How to use this calculator

1. Choose “Date from today” to add or subtract time, or “Days between two dates” to count a gap.
2. Leave the start date on today, or pick another date.
3. Enter the amount and choose days, weeks, months or years.
4. Choose later (from) or earlier (ago). For days, choose calendar days or business days.
5. Read the resulting date and weekday, plus the gap in calendar days and weeks. In between mode you also get business days, months and hours.

How it's calculated

• Days: the start date + n days. The start date counts as day 0.
• Weeks: n × 7 days, so the weekday never changes.
• Months and years: the month moves forward and the day number is kept. If that day doesn't exist in the new month, the date falls back to the last day of the month (31 January + 1 month = 28 or 29 February). A year is 12 months, so 29 February + 1 year = 28 February.
• Business days: steps one day at a time and counts only Monday to Friday. Public holidays are not skipped.
• Days between: the end date minus the start date. Business days between count weekdays from the start date up to, but not including, the end date.

10 business days from today

Counting only weekdays from Friday, September 25, 2026, the 10th business day is Friday, October 9, 2026 — 14 calendar days later. If a federal holiday falls in between, add one more day for each.

From Friday, September 25, 2026 to Friday, December 25, 2026 is 91 days, of which 65 are Monday–Friday business days.

90 days from a date

Adding 90 days is the usual way to work out a 90-day deadline, probation period or return window. Because 90 days is 12 weeks and 6 days, the result lands one weekday before the start date's weekday.

To find the weeks since a date, count the days from that date to today and divide by 7. Business days and federal holidays

The business-day count skips weekends only. If your deadline depends on government or bank working days, take out public holidays yourself — the countdown table above lists the 11 U.S. federal holidays for each year, with the dates OPM publishes under 5 U.S.C. § 6103.

For most federal employees, a holiday that falls on a Saturday is observed the Friday before, and one on a Sunday is observed the Monday after. Private employers and states can set their own holidays, so check the calendar that applies to your deadline.

Common mistakes

• Counting today as day 1. “7 days from today” is next week on the same weekday, not six days later. If a rule says “within 10 days, including today”, subtract one.
• Treating a month as 4 weeks. Only February in a common year is exactly 4 weeks. 3 months from today is not the same as 12 weeks from today.
• Forgetting leap years. Under the Gregorian rule, a year divisible by 4 is a leap year, except century years not divisible by 400 — so 2000 was a leap year but 2100 won't be (U.S. Naval Observatory). 2026 is not a leap year; 2027 is not.
• Legal and medical deadlines. Courts, contracts and clinics can have their own counting rules — for example excluding the first day, weekends or holidays. Use this calculator as a check, and follow the rule that governs your deadline.

Common uses

People use “weeks from today” for notice periods (two weeks' notice), return windows (30 days), shipping estimates in business days, training plans (a 16-week marathon plan), and project deadlines. “Days ago” answers questions like what date was 90 days ago for a lookback period. For pregnancy due dates, a clinician's dating is what counts.
